DHAKA, Feb 16, 2023 (BSS) - One woman and her grandchild were killed as a motorbike hit them while crossing the road around 12:45am last night near Diabari Metrorail station road in Turag area of the capital.

  The deceased were identified as Mazeda Akhter, 55 and her six months old grandchild Rafia.

  Also, the driver of the motorbike Md Arafat Hossain, 23 was severely injured and was taken to Tongi Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master General Hospital for treatment.

  DMP Turag Thana officer in-charge (OC) Md Mowdud Hawlader told BSS the accident occurred as the speeding motorbike hit the victims from behind. 

  They were rushed to Uttara Modern Hospital in a severe condition but eventually both of them succumbed to their injuries.

  The bodies have been kept at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy, said the DMP official.
