DHAKA, Aug 17, 2023 (BSS) - Prime Minister's energy advisor Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Bir Bikram, today said sincere efforts will help build a prosperous Bangladesh.
"A prosperous Bangladesh can be materialized quickly if the assigned responsibilities are carried out with consciousness," he said while addressing a discussion virtually marking the National Mourning Day as the chief guest.
Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources organized the discussion marking the 48th Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day 2023.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid spoke on the occasion as the special guest with power senior secretary of power division Md Habibur Rahman in the chair.
The advisor said Bangladesh was moving forward in all sectors under the leadership of Bangabandhu, but the anti-state vested group could not tolerate that. The vested group including local and foreign conspirator were trying to halt the country's progress by killing Bangabandhu, he added.
"Bangladesh is becoming a middle income country based on the development path of Bangabandhu," the energy advisor said.
Nasrul Hamid said, "We have to be united against the vested quarter who stands in the way development and progress. This vested quarter killed Bangabandhu to destroy Bangladesh."
Vice Chancellor of World University of Bangladesh Professor Dr Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman on Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Begum Wasika Ayesha Khan, Secretary of Energy and Mineral Division Dr Md Khairuzzaman Majumdar, Chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board Mohang Salim Uddin, Chairman of Petrobangla Janendra Nath Sarkar, Chairman of Bangladesh Power Development Board Md Mahbubur Rahman and Chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation ABM Azad spoke, among others, at the function.
