DHAKA, Oct 3, 2023 (BSS) - The by-elections to Brahmanbaria-2 and Lakshmipur-
3 constituencies will be held on November 5.

Election Commission (EC) Secretary Jahangir Alam announced the schedule of 
the elections after a meeting of the commissioners today. Chief Election 
Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal chaired the meeting. 

According to the schedule, the last date for submission of nomination paper 
is October 11. The nomination papers will be scrutinized on October 12. The 
last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 19 and symbols will be 
distributed on October 20.

The EC on Sunday announced the two constituencies vacant after the deaths of 
former aviation and tourism minister and Lakshmipur-3 lawmaker AKM Shahjahan 
Kamal and Brahmanbaria-2 lawmaker Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan.
