DHAKA, Oct 12, 2023 (BSS)- The much-awaited "Mujib: The Making of a Nation", the biopic based on the life and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, is going to be released all over the country from tomorrow.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today inaugurated the premier show of the film at Bangladesh Film Archive, Agargaon in the city.
On her arrival at the venue, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and artists of the movie welcomed the Prime Minister.
The film, a joint venture of Bangladesh and India governments, will be screened at about 200 cinema halls.
Earlier, on September 14, the information minister inaugurated the premier show of the biopic at 48th Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.
Besides, Dr Hasan and his Indian counterpart Anurag Singh Thakur and director of film Shyam Benegal inaugurated the trailer of the film on May 19 in 2022 at the 75th Cannes Film Festival in France.
The film got uncensored certificate on July 31 in Bangladesh.
Dhallywood's popular actor Arifin Shuvoo acted as the title character of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in this film, while Nusrat Imrose Tisha played the role of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, the lifelong better half of the Father of the Nation.
Actress Nusrat Faria portrayed Bangabandhu's elder daughter and incumbent Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The biopic also features popular actor Chanchal Chowdhury, Prarthana Dighi, Tauquir Ahmed, Riaz Ahmed, Dilara Zaman, Jayed Khan, Khairul Alam Sabuj, Ferdous Ahmed, Raisul Islam Asad, Gazi Rakayet and Misha Sowdagor and others in different characters.
The shooting of the film was started on January 22 in 2021 in Mumbai, India and ended on December 18 in Bangladesh.
The first poster of the movie was released on March 17 in 2022 and the second poster was released on May 3 of the same year.
Doyal Nihalani was the associate director of the film while Atul Tiwari and Shama Jayedi were the scriptwriters.
The film is also scheduled to be released across India on October 27.
