DHAKA, Oct  28, 2023 (BSS) - BNP men today carried out arson terrorism on Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital premises in the city by setting fire to seven vehicles amid the BNP-Police clash, Dhaka Metropolitan  Police (DMP) sources said. 

During the BNP-Police clash, BNP leaders and activists entered the hospital premises and deliberately set fire on one ambulance, one microbus and five motorcycles around 3pm, leaving all the patients of the hospital and their relatives in a panic situation, said Faruk Hossain, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP.

The innocent people at the hospital got relief after the frightful condition calmed down after an hour, he added.

Soon after the miscreants set fire on the hospital premises around 3:15 this afternoon, two units of fire service headquarters and two  units of Khilgaon fire service immediately rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 4pm, said Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters. 

Rafi further added that the fire fighters faced obstacles while bringing the blaze under control as the miscreants were vandalizing various vehicles on the road at that time.
