DHAKA, Nov 21, 2023 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) extended the application deadline for foreign organizations and journalists to observer the 12th Jatiya Sangsad election to 7 December as four organizations of 12 countries have so far applied till previously scheduled last date today.

Election Commission's additional secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath said around 30 observers of four organizations representing 12 countries have so far applied.

Of them, 11 from African Electoral, four from South Asian Development Forum, five from International Republican Institute (IRI) of the US and four from European Union (EU). These number could increase, said Ashok.
