DHAKA, Nov 21, 2023 (BSS) - Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen will brief 90 heads of mission stationed in New Delhi but accredited to Bangladesh regarding the current Bangladesh's political situation and the government's commitment and measures taken to hold free and fair elections.
He will make the briefing on the sideline of Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) between Bangladesh and India scheduled to be held on Friday in New Delhi.
The foreign secretary revealed the updates while talking to reporters at foreign ministry this afternoon.
Masud and his Indian counterpart Vinay Mohan Kwatra will lead the delegation of their respective side during the FOC.
At the briefing to foreign diplomats those don't have missions in Dhaka, the foreign secretary said he would also seek vote for Bangladesh's candidature on the International Maritime Organization.
About the Bangladesh-India FOC, Masud different bilateral issues including politics, defense, security, connectivity, investment, water sharing and Rohingya crisis will be in the agenda.
He said Bangladesh election is not included in the agenda but if the Indian side makes any query regarding the upcoming polls, the Bangladesh side will brief them.
He said they will discuss ways so that the upcoming elections of both the countries cannot hamper the Dhaka-Delhi multifaceted relations especially connectivity, visa and people to people fronts.
