Govt recruiting teachers at primary schools ensuring transparency: Tofazzel

DHAKA, Dec 24, 2023 (BSS) - Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain Miah today said the government is recruiting teachers at the government primary schools based on merit and ensuring transparency.

"Maximum transparency is ensured at every step from preparation of question papers to evaluation of answer sheets in the recruitment of assistant teachers at primary schools," he told a function in the capital.

The event was arranged at the conference room of the Department of Primary Education to lay foundation stone of the Integrated Primary Education Management Information System- (IPEMIS) and six government primary schools in the capital.

Speaking as the chief guest, Tofazzel said this recruitment process has already been appreciated at all levels and it has set an instance over time.

He said quality primary education should be given utmost importance to create a prosperous country and create qualified citizens for the future.

Chaired by Director General of Primary Education Department Shah Rezwan Hayat, the ceremony was addressed, among others, by Primary and Mass Education Secretary Farid Ahmed.

 In his speech, Farid said the government has laid emphasis on the use of information technology in primary education.

About 64,000 multimedia sets are being supplied and 24,000 laptops are being distributed to government primary schools, while Wi-Fi connectivity is being provided in every government primary school, he said.

Senior officials of the ministry and the directorate were present on the occasion.
