BARISHAL, Dec 28, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Barishal tomorrow after an interval of five-year as part of her party's election campaign. 

She will address an election rally at the historic Bangabandhu Udyan in the divisional city at 3 pm.

The premier will leave Dhaka for Barishal by air at 9am.

A festive mood is prevailing in the district as well as the entire division marking her visit. 

Enthusiastic leaders and workers of AL of the district are eagerly waiting to welcome the premier and listen to her speech.
 
Local leaders said the party president will give important directives to them in her speech. They hoped the rally will turn into a human sea and it will be the largest one in the history of Barishal.

All preparations have been completed as a large size stage has been erected in the venue. 

Security measures have been strengthened for Sheikh Hasina's arrival as various intelligence agencies and security forces are continuing surveillance since Saturday night to ensure foolproof security.

From Barishal, the premier will go to Gopalganj in the afternoon. She will return on Saturday evening.
