DHAKA, Jan 13, 2024 (BSS) - At least two people were killed and several
others injured in a fire that broke out at Mollabari slum adjacent to FDC
gate in the city's Karwan Bazar area in the early hours of today.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

According to Fire Service and Civil Defence media cell official Anwarul
Islam, 13 fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze around
3.40am, which broke out at around 2:25am.

Lieutenant Colonel Tajul Islam Chowdhury, director (operations and
maintenance) of fire service, said two people were killed and several others
were injured in the fire incident.

However, he said, they could not find out the actual cause behind the fire.
