BANDARBAN, Feb 10, 2024 (BSS) - Another unexploded mortar shell was recovered
by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) from Tamru frontier in Naikhongchhari
upazila of Bandarban this morning.
The mortar shell was found by a local farmer in a vegetable patch at the
Paschimkul area of Ghumdhum union in Naikhangchhari upazila, Bandarban, along
the border with Myanmar.
BGB sources said at least three unexploded mortar shells have reportedly
landed from Myanmar in the border areas in the last three days.
Ghumdhum union parishad (UP) chairman Jahangir Aziz said of the three mortar
shells, one of the shell has been defused by BGB while the other two has been
taken to a safe place by the BGB men.
