MUNSHIGANJ, May 4, 2024 (BSS) - Three members of a family died as a speeding covered van crushed their private car in Bausia Union area on Dhaka-Chattogram highway of Gazaria Upazilla in the district in the early hours of today.

The deceased were identified as - Alamgir, 55, his son Jahir, 30, and Jahir's maternal aunt Rahela Begum, 50, hailing from Chandpur.

Two others were also injured in the accident occurred around 2:15 am today and they were taken to the Upazila Health Complex by police and locals.

Officer-in-charge of Gazaria police station Rajib Khan said, "The private car was recovered from the spot."

Necessary legal action is underway, he added.
