NEW DELHI, June 9, 2024 (BSS) - Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay today said he always remembers and thinks about Bangladesh.
"Bangladesh High Commission falls on my way to gym from my house and it always reminds me about Bangladesh. I always think about Bangladesh," he said.
He made the remarks while paying a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the latter's place of residence here.
PM's Press Secretary M Nayeemul Islam Khan, who was present at the call on, briefed reporters this afternoon.
The Bhutanese Prime Minister said his country's current foreign secretary was an ambassador of Bhutan to Bangladesh.
He said his foreign secretary always thinks how they can make bilateral relations with Bangladesh more fruitful and how they can use assistance of Bangladesh in a more meaningful way.
The Bhutanese Prime Minister said they have been moved by Bangladesh's desire to build family relations with Bhutan, referring to love and affection to the King of Bhutan and his family members during his recent visit to Dhaka.
"We are moved by Bangladesh's desire to make a family bonding with Bhutan," he said.
Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud, MP, Private Industry and Investment Advisor to Prime Minister, Salman Fazlur Rahman, State Minister, Ministry of Commerce, Ahasanul Islam Titu, PM's Principal Secretary Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Foreign Secretary (Senior Secretary) Masud Bin Momen and Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Secretary Mohammad Salahuddin, among others, were present from Bangladesh side.
Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Chandra Bahadur Gurung, Ambassador of Bhutan to India Maj. Gen V. Namgyel, Cabinet Secretary Kesang Deki and Foreign Secretary Pema Choden, among others, were present on Bhutan side.
