DHAKA, June 16, 2024 (BSS) - President Mohammed Shahabuddin will offer his Eid-ul-Azha prayers along with hundreds of Muslims from all walks of life at the main Eid congregation (jamaat) at the National Eidgah on the High Court premises here tomorrow morning as Bangladesh will officially celebrate it across the country.

“The President along with his family members and officials concerned will attend the main Eid congregation of Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of the Muslims, at the Jatiya Eidgah Maidan at 7:30am," President's press secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS today.

On his arrival at the Eidgah Maidan at 7:20am, the President will be received by the Chief Justice, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor and others concerned.

Noted personalities, including cabinet members, Supreme Court judges, lawmakers, senior political leaders and top civil and military officials are expected to say their Eid prayers there.

After the prayers, the Head of the State will exchange greetings with fellow musullis (devotees) at the Eidgah.

“But if it is not possible to hold the Eid prayers at the National Eidgah due to inclement weather or any other reason, the President will say his Eid prayers at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 8am," according to the President's programme schedule.

Like other years, the DSCC authority is set to hold the Eid jamaat at the National Eidgah amid intensified security vigil.

Meanwhile, special arrangements have also been made for women to offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah.
