DHAKA, August 7, 2024 (BSS) - Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) 
AKM Shahidur Rahman has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of 
the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

In this regard, the public security division under the Ministry of Home 
Affairs issued a gazette notification signed by its Deputy Secretary M 
Mahabubur Rahman Sheikh today.

The order will be effective immediately, said the gazette notification.

AKM Shahidur Rahman replaced Barrister Md Harun-or-Rashid as the RAB chief. 
Harun-or-Rashid, got appointment as the RAB chief on May 29, has been 
transferred to police headquarters as the Additional IGP.
