DHAKA, Aug 15, 2024 (BSS) - The President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe greeted Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus on his assumption of Chief Adviser, said a press release of the press wing of the chief adviser.

“President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe greeted Professor Yunus on his assumption of the leadership of the Interim Government of Bangladesh in a phone call to him late Wednesday,” it said.

He congratulated Professor Yunus on assuming the role of Chief Adviser, and advised Sri Lankan investors who have been doing business in Bangladesh for decades to remain in the country, and play a constructive role in its growth and progress, it said.

Professor Yunus also invited the Sri Lankan President to visit Bangladesh at his convenient time, the release added.
