DHAKA, Aug 18, 2024 (BSS) - Newly appointed Managing Director and Chief Editor of the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Mahbub Morshed assumed office today.

The government appointed him on a two-year contract from the date of joining, said a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Saturday.

Upon his arrival at the BSS central office located in the city's Purana Paltan area, all officials and employees, including BSS Managing Editor Anisur Rahman, Chief News Editors Md Rahim Uddin (English) and Harun Al Nasif (Bangla), Chief Reporter (English) Md Morshadur Rahman, Chief Reporter (Bangla) Mursalin Nomani and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ)'s BSS Unit Chief Fazlul Huq and Deputy unit chief GM Rajib Hossain welcomed him with a bouquet.

During the time, MD Mahbub Morshed exchanged views with them.

Later, a meeting was held at the office's board room where MD Mahbub Morshed addressed.

He said several hundreds of youth embraced martyrdom in the recent anti-discrimination student-people movement to build a new Bangladesh.

Mahbub Morshed urged all to work together to remove discrimination from all sphere of the society being imbued with spirit of the youths.
