DHAKA, Aug 28, 2024 (BSS) – Energy Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan today urged all concerned to work ceaselessly for fulfilling the expectations of people for the greater national interest.

“All concerned have to behave accordingly keeping in mind the philosophy of the interim government,” he said adding that all would have to understand the consequences if they failed to understand the language of streets.

The adviser made the comments while exchanging views with officials and employees of all departments under his ministry at Petrobangla Habibur Rahman auditorium here.
In this connection, he opined that secretaries concerned should not be in-charge of any company under their jurisdictions, which is also conflict of interest.

The adviser, however, said that the issue would be under active consideration of the government, so that no secretary would become chair of any company under his jurisdiction.

He also informed that student’s representation would be included in the companies.
Replying to a question about energy sector’s corruption, he said that dealing with the corruption issue would take some time. If required, he said a committee would be formed to this end.

Replying to another question about possible steps to disconnecting illegal gas connections, the adviser mentioned that prompt actions would be taken in this regard after receiving proper information.

Energy Division Secretary Md Nurul Alam, Petrobangla Chairman Zanendra Nath Sarkar, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation Chairman M Aminul Ahsan and chiefs of various departments under the ministry were present in the meeting, among others.
