DHAKA, Sept 26, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh witnessed heavy to very heavy rainfall due to the impact of active monsoon while the Met Office predicted the intensity of rain is likely to decrease from tomorrow.
"Almost the entire Bangladesh witnessed heavy rainfall in the past two days as monsoon has remained active over the country," Md Abdur Rahman Khan, a meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorologist Department, told BSS today.
Intensity of rainfall is expected to decrease in most parts of the country from tomorrow, he said adding rainy weather may improve significantly within in next two or three days.
"Met office recorded 43 mm rainfall at Dhaka city between 6pm and 12noon while the capital city received 44mm rainfall between 6am (September 25) and 6am (September 26)," Abdur Rahman added.
According to a weather bulletin issued by BMD, the highest 104 mm rainfalls were recorded at Kumarkhali, 101mm at Rajshahi, 93 at Aricha, 90mm at Bagabari, 64mm at Faridpur, 87 at Ishurdi, 82 mm at Hatita and 77mm at Jashore.
