DHAKA, Oct 09, 2024 (BSS) - Ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina was implicated in three more cases in two separate courts in the capital today.
Of the three cases, one was filed against 109 persons, including Hasina, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Anisul Huq, Mohammad A Arafat, Hasan Mahmud and Salman F Rahman, over the murder of Yasin Sheikh during the recent anti-discrimination student movement.
Yasin's mother Monjila Begum filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider. The court, after recording statement of the complainant, asked Jatrabari Police Station officer in-charge to file a report on October 31.
Meanwhile, a case was filed against 42, including Sheikh Hasina, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, for allegedly attempting to murder Madrasa student Abu Sufian. Victim's uncle Kawser Hossain filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider.
The court after recording statement of the complainant, asked Jatrabari Police Station officer in-charge to file a report on October 31.
Another attempt to murder case was filed today against 17 people, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former lawmakers Tarana Halim and Momtaz Begum and actor Shomi Kaiser.
Victim BNP activist Syed Hasan Mahmud filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Belal Hossain. The court, after recording statement of the complainant, asked the Criminal Investigation Agency (CID) to probe the allegations and submit a report.
The other main accused in the case are Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Anisul Huq, Hasan Mahmud, Dilip Barua and Harun Ur-Rashid.
