DHAKA, Nov 18, 2024 - (BSS) - The Bangladesh Army-led joint-force today
arrested nine alleged drug dealers after conducting a raid in Karail slum
areas in the capital.

A release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said here this evening.

Based on secret information, the joint-force led by 14 Independent Engineer
Brigades of the Bangladesh Army conducted the raid and arrested nine top drug
dealers, also accused in several drug related cases.

During the drive, heroin and illegal money, earned from drug business, were
also recovered from their prepossession, the release said.

The arrested along with the contraband drugs were handed over to the police.

This special drive is being carried out by the Bangladesh Army as a part of
regular patrolling and operations in different places under 'In Aid to Civil
Power' to implement the directives of the current interim government, the
release added.
