DHAKA, Nov 21, 2024 (BSS) - Reputed international law specialist and co-founder of the London-based The Guernica 37 Group, Barrister Toby Cadman has been appointed as a Special Prosecutor Advisor to the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) here.
Confirming the information to BSS, ICT prosecutor Abdullah Al Noman said with his extensive expertise in international criminal law and human rights, Cadman will bring invaluable knowledge and experience to this critical role and his appointment reaffirmed the tribunal's unwavering commitment to ensuring justice, accountability, and the highest legal standards.
The international legal expert too confirmed the appointment through a post made on his X account yesterday (Nov 20).
"I am delighted and deeply honoured to announce that I have been appointed as a Special Prosecutor Advisor to the International Crimes Tribunal Bangladesh," the post said.
ICT Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam told journalists that Cadman's appointment as Special Prosecutor Advisor demonstrates the ICT's dedication to delivering justice while adhering to international norms and practices.
His expertise would be instrumental in addressing the complex challenges of prosecuting crimes against humanity, ensuring that the voices of victims are heard, and justice is served, he added.
