DHAKA, Dec 4, 2024 (BSS) - Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today said nobody can snatch the national unity forged after the August 5 last and will not be able to make the nation deprived of freedom.
"The nation is now on a more solid stance and will remain on the solid stance. Nobody can snatch away our unity and will not be able to make us deprived of freedom," he told the concluding remarks in today's meeting with political parties at the Foreign Service Academy here.
Prof Yunus said there are differences of opinions among the country's people but no difference among them about the unity.
The unity forged among the political parties after the August 5 last remains the same and the dialogue was arranged to inform it to the country's people, he said.
"With the excitement and strength, the way we fought enemies together on August 5, while students and commoners sacrificed lives. No split is created in this unity and we gathered here to present it before the world. We did not gather here from any weakness," the chief adviser said.
He mentioned that the nation started its journey on August 5, ousting the autocratic government and this nation still remains alert and firm.
"We have not become calm. This nation did not die or become weak but it is strong enough. Your presence is here to inform this only," he added.
"Our blood did not dry up yet and the writings on the walls are yet to be erased...we are a powerful nation and we will struggle," he said, adding that the political leaders were asked to join the dialogue to let them know of the government's efforts going on.
Leaders of major political parties, including BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, joined the dialogue.
