DHAKA, Feb 7, 2025 (BSS) - Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki today said the interim government does not believe in any kind of mob justice and the law enforcing agencies are on alert to handle the situation.

“On behalf of the interim government, I can say that the government does not believe in any kind of mob justice. Law enforcement agencies are working their best to deal with the situation,” he said.

Farooki said this during a visit at Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2025 at Bangla Academy premises flanked with Chinese ambassador in Bangladesh Yao Wen.

The adviser called upon people to be responsible and not to be engaged in any extrajudicial activities, saying, “It’s time to build the country.”

“We protected ourselves after August 5 when there was no law all over the country. We have to be aware and we should not engage in any kind of mobbing,” he said.

Commenting on Awami League’s recent political activities, he said, only six months elapsed, the fascist and its collaborators started inciting people from abroad.

“Come to the country and face trial. The incitement that you are spreading is direly awfully,” Farooki said.
