NAOGAON, Feb 17, 2022 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister
Dr Hasan Mahmud today said BNP is feeling unhappy as the people of the
country are happy under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina.
"BNP is unhappy as Begum Zia gets well. The party (BNP) leaders are
also unhappy over the Election Commission. Even if three angels are
appointed to the commission, they will have no confidence in the EC.
They won't be happy until they are not getting assurance of victory,"
he said.
The minister stated these while addressing the triennial conference
of Awami League Naogaon Municipality unit at Naogaon Zila School
ground with its president Dewan Chekar Ahmed in the chair.
AL Naogaon district unit president Freedon Fighter Md Abdul Malek
inaugurated the conference while its general secretary and Food
Minister Sadhan Chanda Majumder spoke as the key speaker.
AL organising secretary SM Kamal Hossain, health secretary Dr
Rokeya Sultana, Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker, MP, Barrister Nizam Uddin
Jalil Jon, MP, Anowar Hossain Helal, MP, and Md Salim Uddin Tarafdar
Selim, MP, among others, addressed the conference as special guests.
Hasan said the economical condition of the countrymen has been
changed due to farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Bangladesh left behind Pakistan and India in per capita income and the
country (Bangladesh) is now a role model before the people of
Pakistan, he added.
The minister said BNP is now unhappy in everything. They are
unhappy as Begum Zia gets well as they have no other issue for
politics, said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.
He said the political parties and the representatives of civil
society have submitted about 300 names to the search committee to form
the EC. BNP-supported persons also submitted names, though BNP didn't
submit any names directly, he added.
He said the anti-liberation forces and the collaborators of
Pakistani occupations are active and hatching conspiracies both at
home and abroad when the country is marching ahead indomitably.
Hasan urged the AL leaders and activists to elect the dedicated leaders.
