CHATTOGRAM, March 21, 2022 (BSS) - Five people were killed in a head-on

collision between a truck and a private car in Adhunagar area on the
Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway under Lohagara upazila of the district early
this morning.

     The deceased were identified as Muhammad Harunur Rashid, 28, son of late
Nasir Uddin hailed from Amirabad area under Lohagarh upazila, Rizvi Shakil,
son of Farooq Jahan, Saiful Islam, Khorshed Ali and Mansur Ali, all hailed
from Ward no 32 under Chattogram city corporation.

     Officer-in-Charge of Dohazari Highway Police Station Muhammad Sirajul
Islam said the accident occurred at about 5.30 am when the two vehicles
collided head-on in the area, leaving five private car passengers injured
critically.

     The injured were sent to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex where the
attending doctors declared four of them dead.

     Alauddin Talukder, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Chattogram Medical
College and Hospital said another private car passenger was shifted to the
hospital where the on duty doctors declared him dead at about 9.30am.
