RAJSHAHI, Dec 19, 2022 (BSS) - A total of 68 students of Rajshahi Polytechnic
Institute (RPI) were given talent-stipend as recognition for their brilliant
result in their respective examination.
Each of them was given Taka 5,000 and a certificate as they obtained the
highest marks.
RPI authority distributed the 'Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB)
talent-stipend' at its auditorium today.
Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Abu Kalam Siddique and BETB
Inspector Engineer Khaled Hossain distributed the stipend as chief and
special guests respectively, while RPI Principal Engineer Abdur Rashid Mallik
was in the chair.
Chief Instructor of Rajshahi Civil Technology Institute Rashidul Amin and
Principal of Rajshahi Mohila Polytechnic Institute Omor Faruque also spoke on
the occasion.
In his remarks, Commissioner Kalam Siddique said there is no alternative to
technical education for generating competent manpower. The countries, which
are efficient in technical education, are developed.
So, the BTEB has launched talent-stipends for the first time in the country
to boost interests towards technical education.
Kalam Siddique also said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working
relentlessly for building Smart Bangladesh by 2041. In the country,
Information Communication Technology (ICT) is being innovated. The students
have to be competent in technical education to keep pace with the new ICT.
