Foreign ministry's flagship event "Visit Bangladesh-2022" ends 

 
DHAKA, Dec 21, 2022 (BSS) - The six-day long 'Visit Bangladesh 2022' programme with participation of 11 countries under the supervision of the Public Diplomacy Wing of foreign ministry has ended. 

Thirteen distinguished journalists from 11 countries- Algeria, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Vietnam- are participated in this edition of 'Visit Bangladesh' held from December, 15-20, a foreign ministry press release said here today. 

The 'Visit Bangladesh' ended here with a banquet dinner at the state guest house 'Padma' where the participants highly praised the excellent hospitality of Bangladesh.

They also expressed that they would try to attract the investors of their respective country to set up businesses here with their positive writings about Bangladesh. 

'Visit Bangladesh' is a regular flagship event by the foreign ministry aimed at showcasing the history, culture, landscape, progress and development of Bangladesh to foreign media personnel, writers, columnists, intellectuals, bureaucrats, civil society members and the opinion makers as well as shapers. 

On the first day of the program, the participants paid separate courtesy calls on Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam at the foreign ministry.

During the meeting, the minister and the state minister briefed the participants on the evolution of independent Bangladesh, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, foreign policy priorities, economic progress and development, role of free and fair media and the Rohingya issue. 

Both of them expressed hope that participants of Visit Bangladesh-2022 will become Bangladesh's goodwill Ambassadors in their respective countries. 

During this six-day program, the participants visited Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, Central Shaheed Minar, Liberation War Museum, Bangladesh National Museum and Dhaka University.
 
Foreign secretary Masud Bin Momen hosted a dinner for the participants of 'visit Bangladesh-2022' at the state guest house Padma, here. 

The participants witnessed the Victory Day parade at the National Parade Ground on December 16. 

On December 17, they paid tribute to Bangabandhu's Mausoleum in Tungipara, Foreign Ministry's Public Diplomacy Wing director general Twfiq Hasan, was present, among others, during the visit. 

On December 18, they visited the Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar and on the same day they enjoyed the scenic view of the world's largest sea beach there. 

They paid a courtesy call on Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud on December 19 at his office where the minister apprised foreign journalists of the overall development of the country.

Furthermore, the foreign guests also visited Beximco industrial park in Gazipur on December 20.
