DHAKA, Dec 25, 2022 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said that he would discharge his responsibility, even in exchange of his life, reposed in him by Awami League President Sheikh Hasina for the sake of the organization, party and country.
"I will discharge my responsibility, even in exchange of my life, reposed in me by Awami League President Sheikh Hasina for the sake of the organization, party and country.
My responsibility is the same and I've tried my best to discharge the duties whatever given by Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. I had served as environment affairs secretary for 10 years, seven years as publicity secretary and three years as joint general secretary with utmost sincerity," he said.
The minister told reporters before attending the 58th founding anniversary of the state owned Bangladesh Television (BTV) at Rampura in the capital.
Hasan said, "The AL president bestowed upon him the responsibility of the post of joint secretary general again. We will reach the country to our desired destination combating all conspiracies like Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the way she had faced the challenges."
He said there is no alternative to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the country and in the party (AL) as well. She has kept the Awami League united and organised it just like a mother while she took the party into the state power for four times, he added.
There is no alternative to AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as long as she is alive, said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.
Bangladesh, he said, is moving ahead to the desired destination as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The country is now a food sufficient state and a role model of development before the globe under the leadership of the premier (Sheikh Hasina), he added.
"So, there is no alternative to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," said Hasan.
He said the new AL committee is almost unchanged as the president has confidence in them who have been working for a long time. Awami League will get land-slide victory in the next elections also, he added.
