RAJSHAHI, Dec 26, 2022 (BSS) - A two-day International conference on 'Recent Progresses in Science, Engineering and Technology (ICRPSET-2022' began at Rajshahi University (RU) today.
 
RU's Faculty of Engineering is hosting the conference at its lecture gallery technically supported by the Bangladesh section of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE).

Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar addressed the opening ceremony as the chief guest, while Pro-VCs Prof Sultan-Ul-Islam and Prof Humayun Kabir and IEEE Executive Committee President Prof Mashiul Haque spoke as special guests with Science Faculty Dean Prof Abu Zafar Towhidul Islam in the chair.

A large number of scientist and researchers from Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, United States of America and the host Bangladesh are taking part in the conference, where five keynote papers and 78 research papers are scheduled to be presented. 

In his remarks, Prof Golam Sabbir said Bangladesh has attained remarkable success in the field of science and technology like other countries in the world in the twenty and twenty-first centuries.

He hoped that the event will play a pivotal role in preparing and expanding fields of Science, Engineering and Technology in Bangladesh.
 
Wide-ranging expansion of modern information and communication technology is very important to make the nation happy, prosperous, educated and free from illiteracy, he said.
