DHAKA, Dec 29, 2022 (BSS) - Senior leaders of the pro-liberation journalist forum today urged the members of the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) to cast their votes in favour of Farida Yesmin-Shyamal Dutta panel in the upcoming JPC’S managing committee election on December 31.
The leaders made the appeal at an extended general meeting at JPC Auditorium with a call to work unitedly for winning of the panel.
They said Farida Yesmin-Shyamal Dutta panel will be able to maintain a cordial and friendly environment in the press club.
There is no alternative of this panel for the overall development of the club as well as increasing its facilities, they added.
If Farida-Shyamal panel is elected, construction of ‘Bangabandhu Media Complex’ will be ensured, they said, adding that this panel is also committed to ensure clean and healthy canteen facilities for the members.
Besides, the panel will take special steps to ensure other facilities, including play-ground for children and expansion of welfare fund, including financial assistance for the senior club members, they added.

president of Jatiya Press Club Farida Yesmin, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) President Omar Faruque, Daily Bhorer Kagoj Editor and General Secretary candidate Shyamal Dutta, former presidents of (BFUJ) Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul and Molla Jalal, former secretary generals of (BFUJ) Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan
and Shaban Mahmood, former presidents of (DUJ) Abu Jafar Surjo and Kuddus Afrad, incumbent DUJ President Sohel Haider Chowdhury, DUJ former general secretaries Azizul Islam Bhuiyan and Sajjad Alam Khan Topu, among others, spoke on the occasion.
