DSCC working towards building smart city: Taposh

DHAKA, Jan 1, 2023 (BSS) - Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today said that the DSCC is working towards building Dhaka as a smart capital city in line with the government's target of building 'SMART Bangladesh' by 2041.

"Dhaka South City Corporation is working towards building Dhaka as a smart capital city in line with the government's target of building 'SMART Bangladesh' by 2041," he said.

The mayor said these while addressing a programme on Abudharr Ghifari College premises in city's Malibagh area on the occasion of distributing winter clothes among more than six hundred cold stricken people of DSCC's Ward Number-12, a press release said.

He said DSCC has already started work to implement 'Smart Dhaka' as the capital of Smart Bangladesh as per Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's vision.

"We will make Dhaka a livable one. We will make it a smart Dhaka," he reiterated.

Referring to the DSCC as a self-sufficient and self-reliant organization, the mayor said: "We have done the development in the last two years which did not happen in the last 30 years. We are conducting pro-people works under the supervision of the councilor here."

He advised people to inform the councilor concerned for what they should do for the development of this ward.

"I will take necessary development-activities accordingly. Today, we come to you on the first day of the year. We will stand by your side throughout the year," he added.

Referring to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's gift of winter clothes, he said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina always stays beside the poor people.
 
Member of Parliament for Dhaka-8 Constituency Rashed Khan Menon, Ward No-12 Councilor Mamun Rashid Shubhra and Female Councilor Farhana Islam Dolly were present, among others, on the occasion.
