KHULNA, Jan 2, 2023 (BSS) - Railway communications between Khulna and other parts of the country have resumed after two hours of the derailment of a train at Daulatpur Station in the city.

Earlier, Railway communication with Khulna was suspended at around 2.30pm as a guard carriage of the oil trail was derailed at Daulatpur Railway Station, Molla Md Khabir Ahmed, confirmed the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulna Railway Police Station.

He said, four wheels of the rear guard compartment of the oil trail were derailed around 2.30pm and resumed at around 4.30pm.

Md Shafiqul Islam, Camp in Charge of Daulatpur Railway Police told BSS that the accident took place in front of the BGB headquarters in the city.

Later, a rescue vehicle was rushed to the spot and cleared the train lines.

The accident happened while the empty oil trail was returning from Shantahar to Khulna, he said.
