DHAKA, Jan 3, 2023 (BSS) - The government has appointed Md Mahbub Hossain as

new cabinet secretary.

The Ministry of Public Administration today issued a gazette notification
over the appointment of Mahbub Hossain, senior secretary of the Energy and
Mineral Resources Division under the Power, Energy and Mineral Resources
Ministry.

As 24th cabinet secretary of the country, Mahbub Hossain replaced Kabir Bin
Anwar, who was appointed as the cabinet secretary on December 11 last year.

Kabir Bin Anwar went on Post Retirement Leave (PRL).

Mahbub Hossain joined as senior secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources
Division on January 2, 2022. Before joining in this Division, he served as
secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Division during December 31, 2019
to January 1, 2022.

He as a member of BCS (Administration) of 1986 (8th) batch joined in civil
service on December 20, 1989.
