CHATTOGRAM, Jan 12, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League's Chattogram North and South District units today accorded a reception to Barrister Biplab Barua for his election as the AL office secretary for the second time.

Leaders and workers of the two organizational units of AL accorded the reception on the premises of Chattogram Old Rail Station.

"Bangabandhu's daughter showed respect and love to me and thus she showed respect to the people of Chattogram," Biplab Barua told the reception ceremony.

He also expressed his gratitude and thanks to the organizers saying "I am very much delighted and happy getting your love."

The AL office secretary also urged all to remain alert about any kind of conspiracy against the country.

"Today conspiracies are being hatched against the state and the democratic system. These conspirators are spreading propaganda not only at home but also abroad to ruin the country's democratic system," he said.

Biplab Barua urged the leaders and workers to become united against war criminals, terrorists and militants.

Chattogram North District AL president MA Salam chaired the function while Zilla Parishad Chairman ATM Piarul Islam, North district AL General Secretary Sheikh Ataur Rahman, South district AL general secretary Mafizur Rahman, City Swechchhasebak League president Debashish Nath Debu, general secretary Azizur Rahman Aziz, Chattogram South District Swechchhasebak League president and Satkania municipality mayor Mohammad Jobayer, Raozan Upazila chairman Ehsanul Haque Chowdhury Babul, Chakaria Upazila chairman Fazlul Karim Sayeedi, Banshkhali Upazila chairman Chowdhury Mohammad Galib, City Chhatra League general secretary Jakaria Dastagir were present, among others.
