DHAKA, Jan 12, 2023 (BSS) - Two devotees, who had come to attend the first phase of Biswa Ijtema, died at the Bishwa Ijtema venue in Tongi, Gazipur this morning. 

The deceased were Nurul Haque, 63, son of Fazlul Haque of Hemubatpara area of Jayantapur thana of Sylhet district, and Abu Taleb alias Abu Toiyob, 90, a resident of Vurulia area of Gazipur city.

Tongi Bishwa Ijtema Organizing Committee Member Engineer Abdun Noor confirmed the matter, saying that Abu Taleb, Shurah member of Gazipur Markaz of Tabligh Jamaat passed away due to old-age complications around 10 am while Nurul Haque died of respiratory complications around 11 am.

Later, the two bodies were handed over to their relatives after holding their 'Namaz-e-Janaza' at Ijtema Maidan.
