NAOGAON, Jan 15, 2023 (BSS) - Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder today
said here that the area of Social Safety Net (SSN) programme to be expanded
as per the government's plan.
 
"The Social Safety Net (SSN) programme has already been expanded by the
present government. Around 6000 to 7000 beneficiaries in a union are now
directly or indirectly being benefited under the programme," he said.

The minister said this while inaugurating a 'winter cloth distribution'
programme held at Gangoria Union Parishad (UP) auditorium in Porsha upazila
of the district this morning.

Under the programme, 10,000 blankets, 5,000 Chadors and 1,000 sweaters were
distributed in the 20 Union Parishads under Niamatpur, Porsha and Sapahar
upazilas.
 
In the function, Sadhan Chandra also urged people to strengthen the hands of
the Prime Minister.
 
Porsha Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Jakir Hossain, Upazila Chairman Shah
Monjur Morshed Chowdhury, Upazila AL General Secretary Mofazzol Hossain, AL
leader Trina Majumder and Union Parishad Chairman Anisur Rahman were present,
among others, on the occasion.
