NETRAKONA Jan 18, 2023 (BSS) -State Minister for Social Welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru today said that the government has implemented many farmers-friendly programs for boosting food production to ensure food security of the country.

 
“The government led by Premier Sheikh Hasina has already implemented different pragmatic programs based on modern cultivation methods and farm mechanization for increasing food production to attain food security of the country”, he said.

Khasru said these while inaugurating a transplantation of seedlings of highbred SL -8 H variety of Boro rice by rice transplanting machine at a demonstration plot at Baghra village under Netrakona Sader upazila.

The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), Netrakona sader upazila with the help of local farmers has set up the demonstration plot on 50 acres of land in the village to let the famers know about the modern cultivation methods including synchronize cultivation through using latest technology and reducing production costs.
 
The demonstration plot was installed under the agriculture incentive giving program of the government.
 
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Netrakona Anjana Khan Mojlish, the inaugural function was addressed, among others, by Deputy Director of Department of Agriculture Extension Netrakona Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Chairman of Netrakona Sader Upazila Ataur Rahman Manik , Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Netrakona Sader Upazila Mahmuda Akter and Agriculture Officer of Netrakona Sader Upazila Sabina Yasmin.
