DHAKA, Jan 23, 2022 (BSS) - Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has started sprinkling water with upgraded machines to reduce dust pollution.

Two spray cannons are being used for sprinkling water on the streets in the DNCC areas, said a press release.

The roads of the entire DNCC areas are divided into two parts and water is sprinkled with two such machines of advanced technology one day after another. 

 Each vehicle holds 15,000 liters of water and can spray continuously for five hours. Besides, there is a spring layer system for road wetting.

Cannon-1 started spraying in the morning from Banani Navy Gate after arriving at the airport, Uttara House building and coming back to the Banani cemetery area.

On the other hand, Cannon-2 started spraying from Mirpur Road and then in Ganobhaban area, Manik Mia Avenue, Bijay Samari, Jahangir Gate, Prime Minister's Office, Farmgate, Caravanbazar, Moghbazar went to Gabtali and finished sprinkling water.

Apart from the main streets, other roads in the DNCC area are sprinkled with 10 water browsers (water sprinkler machines) twice every day in the morning and afternoon. 

The water sprinkling will continue as dust pollution goes up during winter.
