MEHERPUR, Feb 12, 2023 (BSS) – A Pitha Utsab was held at Meherpur Govt College today.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain inaugurated the Pitha Utsab in a function at the college this morning.

In his speech, the state minister said, "Pitha making is an art... women in different parts of the country make pitha with different styles."

Although pitha is a tradition of the rural areas, now it (pitha) is becoming popular in urban parts of the country, he added.

With Principal of white colored college Professor Md Shafiul Islam Sarder in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, by Deputy Commissioner Dr Mohammed Monsur Alam Khan, Police Super Rafiul Alam and Assistant Professor Abdullah Al Amin Dhumketu.

A total of 25 stalls were set up on the college campus.
