DHAKA, Feb 15, 2023 (BSS) - State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira today said the government is implementing various initiatives for development, empowerment and employment of women.
 
"Bangladesh is now a role model in women empowerment under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina", she said as the chief guest while giving reception to the women entrepreneurs of Rangpur division through online from the Women Affairs Department at Iskaton here.
 
Secretary of the Women and Children Affairs Ministry M Hasanuzzaman Kallol and Director General of the Department of Women Affairs Farida Parvin and Deputy Inspector General of Rangpur Range M Abdul Alam also attended the function as the special guests. 
 
Giving an instance of noted women entrepreneur foundation "Joyeeta Foundation", the state minister said, the women entrepreneurs of the foundation have empowered themselves and then they established themselves in the society.
 
Joyeeta Foundation is a Bangladesh government foundation under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs that provides financial assistance and support to the women entrepreneurs. 
 
Joyeeta Foundation was established in November 2011 under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860. It provides low interest loans to women entrepreneurs.
