DHAKA, Mar 02, 2023 (BSS) - The Dhaka’s metrorail authority has opened Mirpur-10 station for the passengers of the elevated metro rail.
“We have opened Mirpur-10 metro rail station for passengers today,” MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company told the journalists yersterday.
He said the Mass Rapid Transit Line-6 (MRT Line-6) will start its journey from Diabari and give stoppage at Uttara Centre station, Pallabi station, Mirpur section-10 station and finish the journey at Agargaon station.
Earlier, the authority opened the Uttara Centre station on February 18, Pallabi station on January 25 for public. Through this, five stations out of 9 metro rail stations on the Uttara-Agargaon route were opened for passengers.
Manager of the MRT Line-6 Mahfuzur Rahman said the remaining four stations from Uttara to Agargaon will also be operational in phases.
He said Mirpur-10 station is an intersection, which is also important station for metro train, adding, “We have opened it today and other remaining four stations will be opened soon.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the country's first elevated metro rail service, known as MRT Line-6 on December 28.
The authorities have plans to extend the service from Uttara to Motijheel by next year before opening the route to Kamalapur in 2025.
