Saifuzzaman for ensuring good governance in land sector

DHAKA, March 5, 2023 (BSS) - Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury today emphasized on ensuring good governance in land sector of the country aiming to provide people-friendly land services to the people.


The minister said this while addressing the closing ceremony of the 133rd 'Survey and Settlement Training Course' organized at the Central Seminar Hall of Bhumi Bhaban in city's Tejgaon area as the chief guest, a press release said.

Land Secretary Md Mustafizur Rahman attended it as the special guest.


The six-week training course organized with 70 officials of Bangladesh Civil Service's Administration and Police Cadre and Bangladesh Judicial Service ended under the arrangement of the Land Record and Survey Department (DLRS) today, the release added.

 

Saifuzzaman urged the participants of the training to devote themselves in providing quality land-services to the people.
Aiming to provide quality land-services to the people, he advised them to think out of the box to ensure good governance in the land sector.

Describing the land ministry as the 'top-five performing ministry' of the government, the minister said should not become self satisfied for it.


"We are constantly striving to do better. We want to set an example for the future by doing good work. Our mission is to establish smart and sustainable land management," he added.
 
With Director General of Land Record and Survey Department Md Abdul Barik in the chair, the closing ceremony was also attended, among others, by Chairman of Land Reform Board Md Abu Bakar Siddique and Land Appeal Board Chairman AKM Shamimul Haque Siddiqui as guests of honour.
