DHAKA, Aug 15, 2021 (BSS) - Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM
Mozammel Huq today said the anti-liberation forces had killed Father
of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with his family
members to destroy the spirit of liberation war.

 The minister was addressing a virtual meeting arranged by the
Ministry of Liberation War Affairs marking the 46th martyrdom
anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
and the National Mourning Day here.

"We have to take forward the nation through implementing the
ideology of the liberation war and the Bangabandhu also. It is the way
of paying real tribute to the Father of the Nation," he told the
function.

 Regarding Bangabandhu's efficiency as a statesman, the minister
said Bangabandhu was at all an efficient statesman and he had proved
it through his three and half years' regime.

   Bangabandhu, was the only leader across the world, who dreamed of
independence in his lifetime and made people united for the war of
independence and then at last achieved the freedom, he said, adding
that "We still might be a subservient nation, if Bangabandhu was not
born."

"Bangabandhu became a world leader in short span of time. He
[Bangabandhu] didn't gave delivered his speech in world forum like a
Bangladeshi leader, but he addressed like a world leader," he said.

Bangladesh would have become a developed nation much earlier if
Bangabandhu was alive, the minister observed.

Ministry officials including Liberation War Affairs Secretary Khaja
Mia and different district freedom fighter commanders, among others,
virtually joined the function.

Earlier, the liberation war affairs ministry paid floral wreaths at
the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman.
