DHAKA, March 22, 2023 (BSS) - Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman paid homage to Ekushey Padak winning sculptor Shamim Sikder.
 
Dr Akhtaruzzaman laid wreaths at her coffin as her body was brought to fine arts faculty premises of the university to allow people to pay their homage, said a press release.

DU Pro-VC (Administration) Dr Mohammad Samad and DU Teachers Association president Dr Nizamul Hoque Bhuiyan, teachers and officials, among others, were present on the occasion.

Shamim Sikder passed away on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at United Hospital in the city at 70.
