DHAKA, April 5, 2023 (BSS) - Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed today said the ministry has been working to make 'Mukta Pani' manufactured by physically challenged people a popular brand in the country. 

"Sale proceeds of 'Mukta Pani', a brand of bottled drinking water, is spent for the welfare of physically challenged people," he told as the chief guest of Mukta Pani's promotional work, road-show and meeting discussion at the International Mother Language Institute auditorium in the city's Segunbagicha area.

The minister said the present government has brought disabled people to society's mainstream by providing training to them and making them employed. 

They are now living with their head high in society, he said, adding that the government is determined to ensure respectful e-life for every disabled person.

Ministry of Social Welfare Secretary Md Jahangir Alam presided over the ceremony. State Minister for Social Welfare Md Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru and Rashed Khan Menon, Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee (PSC) on Social Welfare Ministry were the chief guests.

Professor of Dhaka University, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Dr S M Shameem Reza presented the keynote on the occasion.
