DHAKA, Aug 18, 2021 (BSS) - Helena Jahangir, who was recently relieved from the membership of Awami League’s women sub-committee has given a confessional statement under the Wildlife Conservation and Special Powers Act.
 
After a three-day remand, police produced her before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court today.
 
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dhiman Chandra Mandal recorded her confessional statement and ordered to send her to jail.
 
Also, following a hearing today, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim rejected her bail plea in a fraud case.
 
Helena Jahangir was arrested from her Gulshan residence in the city on July 29.
 
The law enforcers recovered foreign liquor, illegal walkie-talkie sets, knives, foreign currency, casino equipment and deer skins from there.
