'Govt works relentlessly to build smart Bangladesh'

 RAJSHAHI, May 2, 2023 (BSS) - Present government under the prudent and farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for building 'Smart Bangladesh' for transforming the country into a developed one by 2041.
 
Digital Bangladesh has already been built and time has come to build Smart Bangladesh with the dynamic and competent leadership of the Premier.

Administrative officials and other stakeholders came up with the observation while addressing a workshop titled "Smart District Innovation Challenge-2023" for building Smart Bangladesh.

District administration organized the workshop at its conference hall today with participation of all stakeholders.

With Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed in the chair, Additional Deputy Commissioner Joya Maria Perera and Prof Golam Rashed from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Rajshahi University illustrated the aspects of building Smart Bangladesh during their multimedia presentations.

Deputy Director of Local Government Shahana Akhter Jahan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shariful Haque, Additional District Magistrate Shabiha Sultana, Additional Superintendent of Police Abu Saleh Ashraful Alam and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Utpal Kumar Chowdhury also spoke disseminating their expertise on the issue.

The meeting was told that a target has been set to build Smart Bangladesh on the basis of four pillars- Smart Citizen, Smart Government, Smart Society and Smart Economy- by 2041.

In the workshop, the participating stakeholders discussed and devised ways and means on how to build Rajshahi as a smart district.

They put emphasis on implementation of cashless, transparent and accountable methods in the field of transaction. Thereby, a smart economy will be established through formulation of a corruption-free and accountable system.

In his remarks, Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed Smart Bangladesh could be possible when cherished progress in the field of industries, factories, trade, business, health, education and agriculture will attain.
 
"We have no more time to look backward but we have to look forward as the present Bangladesh has been marching forward vibrantly," he added.
