DHAKA, Aug 19, 2021 (BSS) – Noted journalist, editor of the daily
Arthanithi and a member of the management committee of the National
Press Club Zahiduzzaman Faruk died today.

   He was 72.

  He died of cancer around 2.30 pm at his city's Eskaton residence,
family sources said.

   He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the
death of journalist Zahiduzzaman.

  In a message of condolence, the premier prayed for eternal peace of
the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

  President of National Press Club Farida Yasmin, General Secretary
Elias Khan, President of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) Quddus Afrad
and General Secretary Sajjad Alam Khan Topu also condoled the death of
Zahiduzzaman.

  Zahiduzzaman Faruk was also a member of the Economic Reporters Forum
(ERF). He worked with the Daily Ittefaq for a long time.
