RANGPUIR, May 9, 2023 (BSS) - The 14th death anniversary of noted nuclear scientist and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's husband Dr. M A Wazed Miah (Sudha Miah) was observed at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) here today.

     Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr. Hasibur Rashid  with Pro Vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Sarifa Salowa Dina and Treasurer Professor Dr Mojib Uddin Ahamed placed wreaths at the grave of Dr. Wazed in his native Laldighee Fatehpur village of Pirganj upazila paying rich tribute to the nuclear scientist.

     Later, leaders of Begum Rokeya University Teachers' Association (BRUTA), Officers' Association and Employees' Association, officials of Dr. Wazed Research and Training Institute and leaders of BRUR unit of Chhatra League placed wreaths there paying rich tribute to Dr Wazed.

     Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and BRUTA President Md Shariful Islam, Registrar of the university Engineer Mohammad Alamgir Chowdhury, Deans of different Faculties, Head of different Departments, teachers, officers and employees of different departments were present.

     A milad and dua mehfil was arranged and special munajats offered at the Central Mosque of the University after the Johr prayers seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Dr. Wazed and his other departed family members.
